Responsible for all production work for assigned books, including creating text dummies (i.e., doing layouts), writing captions, and finalizing text types. Responsible also for communicating with text editors, photo researchers, typesetters, designers, and prepress operators on progress and the book's vision. Monitor books as they move through the production workflow and maintains the schedule so books come out on time. Works with production team to implement appropriate tagging to and structuring of files for digital use. Works with e-content team to produce appropriate interactive and value-added material for Lerner Digital program. In some cases, especially on new series, the production editor will work closely with the designer and other editors to shape the visual content of a series.
